Landmark D2C website reimagines purpose-driven resale shopping

This new social enterprise supports Goodwill’s mission to provide professional training, job placement, youth mentorship, and more to local communities and brings online a one-of-a-kind selection of goods from Goodwill stores around the US.

Every year, Goodwill recovers more than 3 billion pounds of used goods, diverting them from landfills and giving them a second life. When consumers shop with, they are shopping with a purpose—honoring the sustainability goals and values shared by both companies. Goodwill further supports local communities by providing job training, interview preparation, and resources to those in need of work. In fact, on average across all Goodwill member locations, 87 cents of every dollar is reinvested directly into local communities through Goodwill’s programs. enables Goodwill retail stores to sell donated items online to consumers by leveraging Astound’s Salesforce Commerce Cloud accelerator. “Astound has been an incredible partner to us in reimagining purpose-driven thrift shopping. Through the development of a modern secondhand marketplace platform, we’ll expand the reach of member Goodwill’s to a national audience and increase the impact of community programs,” shares Beth Monda, Interim CMO at GoodwillFinds.

Astound’s services on the project include commerce strategy; solution architecture; development, including back-end, front-end, business analysis, and quality assurance; customer experience, including user experience and visual design; program management and performance marketing, including strategy, MarTech, SEO, analytics, and paid media. A soft launch took place in late September 2022, with the hard launch following on October 4. 

GoodwillFinds eCommerce, Inc. is a social enterprise comprising a resale technology platform and thrift marketplace under license from Goodwill Industries International, Inc. Proceeds from sales on directly benefit the communities from which the items were originally sourced, fueling local programs for workforce development and job training.
