A Faster Path to a Composable Storefront

Salesforce Commerce Cloud Composable March 2025 Updates

In 2025, brands are increasingly embracing composable commerce to boost time to market for innovation. The ability to quickly make changes to your commerce tech stack and storefronts, without massive custom development or a long line of IT tickets, has become a means for brands to shift alongside marketplace trends with greater agility. This results in better site performance, quicker updates, less complexity and lower cost of tech ownership.

In Q1 2025, Salesforce noted a 300% year-over-year increase in live Salesforce composable sites, and a 70% increase in customers actively building. This includes particular interest from brands on SFRA and Site Genesis, as well as new Salesforce customers. Managed service partners are leading the way in helping these brands go composable, providing expertise, recommendations, strategy, implementation, optimization and support.

That being said, the path to implementing composable solutions remains daunting for many brands. But with recent Salesforce Commerce Cloud updates, Salesforce is making adoption even easier.

New Salesforce Commerce Cloud composable features for April 2025 include:

Native Hybrid Authentication OOTB

  • Platform-Native Data Synchronization: Enables brands to go composable faster with out-of-the-box authentication, ensuring automatic data synchronization between SFRA and Composable Storefront pages. In addition, eliminates the need for plugin_SLAS and facilitates an easier move from SFRA/SiteGen.
  • Seamless Shopper Experience: Helps your shoppers more easily navigate across your hybrid site with no disruption or loss of data. Synchronization includes basket transfer, shopper context session attributes, and support for consistent analytics.
  • Full Support for All Templates: Provides a fully supported and productized solution to ease the path to composable storefront success, whether using Site Genesis or SFRA.

Other New Features & Upcoming Betas

  • V4 and Open Beta for PWA Kit Multi-Extensibility is coming with stacked overrides, a “cartridge-like” extensibility model with improved DX
  • PWA Kit V4 launch targeted for end of 2025
  • Salesforce provides an upgrade path for PWA Kit V3 to V4
